             Potentilla   (Cinquefoil)

For a confetti shower of long-lasting blossoms, the Cinquefoil Bush is the plant of choice.  Most varieties of Potentilla are bushy plants with an upright or spreading habit covered in small, green or grayish green, five lobed leaves.  The cheery 1-2" flowers in hues of yellow, white, orange and pink to red resemble the blossoms of a wild rose.  With the short stature and abundance of flowers, Potentillas are a fine choice for foreground plantings.
