Common Name: Oriental 'Poppy'
Botanical Name : Papaver orientale  'Prince of Orange'

Aptly named , this poppy is certifiable garden royalty with monstrous 3-4" diameter orange flowers with starkly contrasting black centers.  Big, fat buds rise above deep green, sandpapery basal foliage and open to an unforgettable color show from late May through June.  Group a few together and get ready to "oooh and aaah"!

Matures 30" tall x 30-36" wide.         Hardy to Zone 3

It's hard not to be awestruck by a plant that forces big buds above rough, deep green basal foliage that open to the most fantastic 3-4' diameter crinkly, light pink flowers with sharply contrasting black spot on petals along with a jet black center. Perfect for grouping, watch the flowers open from mid-may through June and enjoy the show.
