                      Melons - Cantaloupe & Watermelons
Melons have been pleasing palates since the days of ancient Rome. Watermelons, honeydews, cantaloupes and all their relatives crave heat and take their time maturing. They'll grow in USDA zone 4 and warmer, but here in Maine you should grow short-season varieties. We can help by giving your plants a head start in our greenhouse until the warmer days of summer return and even then you should protect new transplants from chilly temperatures.
