Coreopsis - Tickseed

Tickseed was so named because its seed resembles a tick, which belies the beauty of its bright daisy-like, yellow-toned flowers.  They are a delight in any garden, blooming early and for most of the summer in cooler areas.  Coreopsis grows easily in sunshine and moist garden soil.  They are excellent cut flowers.  The fading blooms should be picked to maintain blossoms over a long time.
