Celosia  (Cockscomb)

Celosia is an annual flower whose silky blooms get attention wherever they grow thanks to a wide choice of appearance, size and color. With the plumed flower spikes, celosia can be used as a colorful addition to garden beds, or can be cut and used in dried arrangements.

Nothing else in the garden resembles this unusual, lovely Celosia! Huge heads, whorled and lobed like cabbages, nestle among large, tropical-looking foliage! The colors in this mix are magenta, neon rose, scarlet and yellow, all with green foliage, PLUS exciting mahogany-red, with leaves of deep purple scored with maroon veins and a dark green sheen! Absolutely unrivalled for rich color and stunning form!   This sun-lover puts on a tremendous show, with the velvety flower heads reaching 8-10" long and several inches across. They arise from from summer till frost on 6" tall plants, which display excellent heat tolerance through the worst August days
