Blanket Flower - Gaillardia

These showy flowers with their large daisy-like blooms are worthy of addition to any garden not because of their beauty but because they stay in bloom all summer.  Gaillardias like full sun, and a rich, sandy, well-drained soil.  They are fairly hardy, but appreciate a heavy mulch for winter protection.
